Les actes du colloque, qui s'est tenu au Musée des Beaux-Arts de Lille en juin 2005, font suite au catalogue de l'exposition « Le Maître au Feuillage brodé : secrets d'ateliers », organisée sous l'égide de Frame à Lille, en collaboration avec le Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute de Williamstown, Massachusetts, et le Minneapolis Institue of Arts, Minnesota.

Le colloque abordait les méthodes d'attribution d'oeuvres à ce maître anonyme des anciens Pays-Bas de la fin du XV^e siècle, à la lumière des connaissances actuelles du fonctionnement des ateliers. Il constitue une étape pour l'étude des oeuvres attribuées aux maîtres à nom de convention.

This publication of the acts of the conference held at the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Lille in June, 2005, follows the catalogue of the exhibition « The Master of the Embroidered Foliage : Secrets of the workshops », organized under the hospices of Frame in Lille, in collaboration with The Sterling and Francine Clark Institute, Williamstown, Mass., and The Minneapolis Institute of Arts, Minneapolis, MN.

At this conference, the traditional methods used in attributing works to this anonymous master active in the Netherlands at the end of the 15th century were discussed in light of current knowledge regarding how these workshops functioned. The Lille conference constitutes another phase in the study of groups of works attributed to anonymous masters.
